We care about the environment and your convenience. When you choose to stay at Hotel Lorensberg, you choose a hotel that is eco-labeled with Green Key since June 2016. This means that you contribute to taking responsibility for the environment, as we follow Green Key’s environmental requirements.

Green Key is an international eco-label within the hospitality industry and present in more than 90 countries worldwide. The label is internationally managed by Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) who is partnered by UNEP and UNWTO. All Green Key establishments are checked through frequent audits, to ensure compliance of the criteria. If you want to read more about how Green Key works internationally, read more here.

We are actively working with environmental and sustainability issues, by following Green Key’s comprehensive criteria. We help you as a guest to take care of the environment without compromising your experience or convenience with us.

Here are some examples of our environmental efforts:

We use LED lighting, 100% renewable electricity, and have routines in place to reduce energy consumption.

We sort and recycle waste from both our operations and our guests.

We use 100% eco-labeled cleaning products for daily cleaning.

We have taken initiatives to reduce water consumption — for example by installing low-flow taps, showers, and toilets, as well as water-efficient dishwashers and washing machines.

We offer our guests organic food for breakfast.

We work to reduce food waste, for example by measuring our food waste daily and following up on the results.

We calculate our greenhouse gas emissions to reduce our climate impact.

We work with annual environmental goals to ensure continuous improvement of our environmental efforts.

 

Would you like to help us reduce our environmental impact?

Place recyclable items next to the waste bin and we will sort them for you — for example newspapers, cardboard, batteries, and deposit bottles/cans

Drink tap water. It’s safe to drink, delicious and free of

Choose Room Check at check-in to opt out of full cleaning if you are staying multiple nights.

Use your towel for several days. Place it on the floor if you would like a new one.

We change your bed linen after four nights. Please inform reception if you would like it changed less frequently.

Turn off lights, switch off electronics, and unplug chargers.

Take shorter showers.

Avoid throwing away food by, for example, only taking as much as you can eat.

Travel by public transport to and from our hotel. Download the Västtrafik To Go app to find your local journey.

Explore the surroundings by bike. We have three bicycles available for free loan. If our bikes are already in use, the nearest place to rent one is Styr & Ställ at Berzeliigatan, behind the City Theatre.
